Dear Friends,

I can hardly believe that 2022 is almost over!  As I was looking back over this past year of so much growth, several “firsts” came to mind, but one particularly stood out:

I had to say “no” for the first time to mustangs in need.  That was one of the most difficult moments for me.  Knowing that I couldn’t save these mustangs, who needed so much help, made me reconsider my decision to start a mustang rescue.

Both times I had to say “no” was because we didn’t have room to take another mustang.  Even though fundraising for fencing may be a “boring” aspect of a horse rescue, it’s so important.  It means more mustangs saved - a difference made in their lives.  The proper facilities are the reason why we CAN save mustangs.  Otherwise, it would be impossible to rescue them.

I know that this is only the beginning. I will have to say “no” many more times - even though it hurts - and I know it hurts you, too.  That’s why we’re in this together.  We can only bring about change together. Tomorrow is Giving Tuesday, but we’re getting a head start on our campaign today.  Our goal is to raise $1,500 by tomorrow night and $5,000 by the end of the year to put towards expanding our facilities.  Please consider donating and please share this fundraiser with others.  You will never know how much impact your share will create, or a donation of $5.  Everything adds up.

The good news is that I was able to say “yes” to two mustangs in need this year because of you!  Because of your prayers and donations and God’s help, two mustangs were saved!  Alamo was in danger of being sent to slaughter and Ember was just days away from a horrible end.  Thanks to you, they were saved.

We are on the verge of another exciting year for Mustang Mission. Many little surprises will pop up and big projects will be completed.  Yet, the Bureau of Land Management will still be rounding up mustangs and burros and sending them to holding pens with the 60,000+ mustangs and burros that are already there.  Some will be adopted to good homes, but many will spend the rest of their lives in holding, be purchased for slaughter, or live a life of abuse and neglect once adopted.

There are so many mustangs about to ship to slaughter - some mustangs less than a year old and some mustangs well into their twenties.  All mustangs deserve rescuing, although some may not agree.

That’s why we’re here to save as many horses as we can and raise awareness about the wild horses’ plight!  This is only possible when we work together.  Will you help Mustang Mission bring about change? Will you join us in our goal to rescue as many horses as we can? Your donation this Giving Tuesday will do just that!

On behalf of all of the mustangs that you will help save through your support today - thank you.  I pray that God blesses each one of you abundantly!

-Erin & Alamo (for the rest!)
