About Mustang Mission
Mustang Mission Wild Equine Rescue Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to saving America’s wild horses and burros from abuse, slaughter, and neglect. Beyond direct rescue, we work tirelessly to defend their freedom on the range, raise awareness of the threats they face, and educate the public on their history and value.
In 2023, Mustang Mission expanded its advocacy to include the iconic wild horses of Cumberland Island, Georgia—an irreplaceable herd with centuries of history. Our efforts additionally focus on protecting these horses, as well as continuing our mission to give displaced wild equines a second chance at life.
Together, we can ensure that wild horses and burros—symbols of resilience and freedom—have a future both on the open range and in safe, loving homes.
In the future, we hope to provide a small sanctuary where older mustangs and mustangs that struggle to adjust to domestication can live the rest of their lives in peace and freedom.
